Last week we were busy at AIME2020, the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event. Held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre, AIME brings together venues, event suppliers and event planners from around Australia the world.
It is a gathering where trends are featured, industry challenges addressed and new products and venues launched.

A key part of the program that we look forward to each year, the AIME Knowledge Exchange and Ideas Academy, brings together some of the best minds, from without and out the industry, to share their insights.

It was great to see Authenticity, Creativity, Curiosity, Trust and Vulnerability feature throughout the event.

Despite the onslaught of technology, events are still about human connection, experience and engagement. In fact, AIME was all about human interaction.

We have condensed three days into one for you here as we share our top takeaways from AIME2020.
  • ‘Uncertainty and disruption are the new normal’
  • ‘The future is not technology – the solution is in humans’
  • ‘Curiosity as the key 21st century skill’
  • ‘84% of people in a Harvard Business Review study believed that curiosity catalyzes new ideas. 92%  credited curious people with bringing new ideas into teams  and organisations.’

  • ‘If the lifeblood of the digital economy is data, its heart is digital trust’
  • ‘Trust is granted on two attributes: competence (delivering on promises) and ethical behavior (doing the right thing and working to improve society)’
  • ‘It is no longer only a matter of what you do, but how you do it’

  • ‘Events are 100% share of voice’
  • ‘Content is king’
  • ‘Community is your kingdom’
  • ‘To inspire, you need to be authentic’
  • ‘Inspire people to contribute – think of attendees as contributors’

How will you build trust, creativity, authenticity and engagement at your next event?
